Poem by Shyam Sadhu

Translated from Gujarati by Dr.G.K.Vankar

When the Sixth Sense Awakens

When the sixth sense of the man at the end of the queue awakens
There would erupt a beam of light
From the muladhar chakra of the ones sitting before the yaksha
When the sixth sense of the man at the end of the queue awakens
There will be victory cries of Om Hrim Bhrim
There on the Manikarnika Ghat.
When the sixth sense of the man at the end of the queue awakens
Those people,
The believers of caste,
who stand in the front and
talk so much,
will go and stand
last,
silently.
(From Anthology Dundubhi)
